Not sure if this has been asked, I did some searching throughout the forums and I couldn't find anything (I very well could have been looking in the wrong sections). So I've been waiting for my NT1-A from Sweetwater and they pushed back when I'm supposed to get it about a month. Now I'm somewhat okay with that, as it gives me time to work on music and what not.

BUT I found a used NT1-A for $150 on Craigslist (compared to the $230 new) and I will have him lower the price, but I'm wondering if it is safe to buy a used mic... Or if I should just suck it up and wait for the new one from Sweetwater (which they say won't get to them til 3/27 at the earliest... kind of annoying).

I have purchased a good number of used mics with no problems. However, I personally would not use Craigs List for this purpose as there is no seller accountability on Craigs List as there is, for example on eBay. On eBay you have seller ratings (feedback) which tell you a lot about the reputation of the seller. The seller has a lot at stake to protect his feedback score. So I only purchase from sellers who have a good score and a large number of transactions under their belt.

Hope that helps!

I would never get anything shipped through CL either, but the guy lives about an hour away from me and I'm not sure I want to drive all the way and test it out, seeing as it could work well then, but not later. If he was closer I definitely would.
