Mic for Contrast to C1

I'm trying to decide on a mic for a contrast to the SP C1. While I like the C1, I would like another mic that is not as hyped on top for vocals and other applications where you just might not want that "somewhat overboosted" high end. I guess I'm looking for a little warmer sounding mic. I have a SP C1, 2 SP B3, 2 SP C4, 2 SM57, d112, ATM25. Preamps are Langevin DVC and Sebatron vmp-4000e. The projects I do are mostly blues, country, and a little old classic rock. I'm currently looking at everything I can find about these:
Shure SM7B
EV RE20
AT4047
ADK A51TC
Oktava MK 319-are you likely to get a "GOOD" one from sound-room?

I am wondering what some of your experiences are with these mics.
I want a good mic for vocals, but one that is going to be as versatile as possible for instruments, too. What are your favorites? Is there a standout in this crowd?

I have modified MK-219's that would fit that bill pretty well.

I have modified MK-219's that would fit that bill pretty well. Same kind of detail as a C1 but not nearly as hyped top end (actually very un-hyped top end, rolled off even).

Modifying the grill is necessary (and pretty easy) and removing the "resonators" is optional (and not so easy).

I guess the MK-319 already has the grill worked out.

I have a pair of Mk 319 and they are great- the only draw back is that they don't sound the same- in fact, they are not even close! One is airy and the other dark- go figure! so its hard to use them as a pair- on the other hand, they both have useable sounds and I use them according to the situation-

Have you opened them up to have a look at the components? My MK-219's have what I am presuming is the same date range (2002r), and have completely different capacitors including the coupling caps. This could make a big difference.

Well, mine sounded enough the same until I cracked them open and started hacking on them, and now they sound different. One of them is airy and yet dark. The other is more present without as much extension.

cool, just curious.

FWIW the (intentional) difference between mine is that the resonator (plastic disk thingy) has been removed from the diaphragm on the darker/more-airy mic and is left in place on the brighter mic.

I don't know much about how the sound room selects them. If it were me, though, I'd do neither of these things... I'd find a local Guitar Center and go in and audition about 20 of them and pick one out for yourself. Bring your C1 along for comparison.

I have also heard that you can't get Oktava at GC any more. :(
That kind of limits my listening oportunities. Too bad. That is what I would like to be able to do.

I just ordered a MXL V69ME at Dan Richards suggestion, and because I found one new on evil b for $275.00 US shipped. Ya, I know some people like them..... some think they are cheap crap, but I thought I would try it and maybe try to find a used MK319 also.
