i was going to get an art pro mpa and an art pro vla and use them as my main two channels. after speaking with many people of this site (and others) i'm now going to drop a little more money and get a peavey vmp-2. but what compressor should i get instead of the vla? i'm looking for something warm and analog-y that won't break the band ($400-$500). any suggestions?

i just bought an mpa. i havn't even used it once yet. i bought it impulsively because i found one for cheap. but since then, everyone is telling me that i MUST get a vmp-2. i was thinking of leaving the mpa in the box, and selling it for a vmp-2. as i'm typing this, i'm realizing that i am being an idiot. i should try the mpa, despite what everyone says. perhaps i'll like it, especially with the tubes you recommended. sometimes i get caught up in all of this message board hype. i just need to think for myself.

there...i've had a breakthrough!
