I got and MP2-MH coming. I already have the MP2-NV and know of the differences between the two by reading but would like to know how some of you are using it if you have one?

What seems to be a good start on say a drum kit? Where would you use it. I have an api 3124+,Langevin DVC, And the mp2-nv. As well as a PreSonus mp20 and a dbx 586 and a meek. I am thinking overheads. I close mic everything and use room mics as well. My console is a D8B with 2 HDR's I also have a Studio Projects T3 coming too. Maybe a good match?

Q,
It is by far my most favorite pre right now. It is hard to use words to explain but I will give it my best shot. It is really "thick" sounding without any "honky" mids. Nice "smooth" top end without being too "harsh". You can really push the input hard and overdrive it when you want and it has a seperate output control. I am sure you have read up on the specs.

This thing absolutely kills on electric guitars, kick, snare, bass. It is alot looser sounding compared to an api. I love those as well and the NV just gives me another choice of color to add to the noise. I actually used it on vocals the other day. Heavy band. I gave the singer a 58 plugged it into the NV with a distressor and it was right in my face. Sat great in the mix.

Since I primarily record heavier type bands it works great on alot of things for me. I actually wanted another one but since they were back ordered I was willing to try their cleaner more transparent model the MH. I am going to try it tomorrow for the first time and I am probably going to use it with overhead drum mics. Also for vocals.

I will be trying the T3 with all of my pres to see what works best for this singer. I have a feeling it will work nicely with the MH. I want 3 more NV's. I WILL get them. Looks nice in the rack too! BAD ASS MERCENARY BLACK!
