Well, after 7 years, we've called it quits. Some guys are relocating, some have their interests... we did the last of our final two shows last night at The Akron Civic Theater, and it was great. The first show was nearly sold out, last night was sold out just before show time.

This is the way every band should call it quits - not with middle finger flipping or hard feelings of any kind, but with handshakes, sincere hugs and best wishes.

When we first started the band, we thought that we'd be doing well if we were able to do a two year run. That was back in 2007. I'd say we exceeded our own expectations. ;)

The audience was awesome, and I've always loved playing The Civic, it's an ancient (1922) but absolutely gorgeous theater, the acoustics are incredible, FOH always sounds fantastic.
The clouds you see in the picture below actually move across "the night sky"... stars twinkle, it's simply an amazing place. not only in visuals and sound, but it also has a great "vibe" to it. You walk into this place and it makes you want to play your best.

Here's a pic of "The Mighty Wurlitzer" organ, it's on an elevating platform, stored under the floor when not in use, and brought up with the push of a button. They still use it for silent film festivals. ;)

I was very lucky, and felt privileged to have played in this band - great players, singers, and wonderful people as human beings.

We did have a video crew come in for the Friday night show, intended for DVD... but I haven't seen any of that footage. I haven't looked to see if there are any youtube clips up yet; truthfully I've never really cared about youtube vids because the audio is always so bad, always recorded by someone on an iphone, while sitting directly in front of a bass, amp, guitar amp, or from the side, etc. and it's never even close to being indicative of what it sounds like FOH.

Here's one from several years ago, I forget from where. I like it because it shows the level of musicianship, pocket and groove in the band. It's one of the better iPhone recordings I've heard, but, it's still just an iPhone, so you get the idea. This song, written by Jonah (he bee da boss-man LOL ) actually charted on BB for awhile back in the late 70's.

I agree with you.. Michael had some great songs, but Jonah was a major contributing member in that band as well, with songs like Strike Up The Band, Waste A Little Time On Me and Nothin's Gonna Change My Mind.

I actually met Jonah many years ago when he asked me to play drums for his band Breathless, after Kevin Valentine left and went to play with Donnie Iris.

LOL... the first two years I knew him, he didn't even know that I played guitar. He thought I was strictly a drummer /vocalist.

I know all those guys, and they are all very down to earth and pleasant, just regular guys. Great players all, too.. ;)
