Hey everyone! I currently am using an Audio-Technica 2020 going through a Lexicon Alpha. I got them awhile back and am taking them out again to do some recording and I have a few problems you may be able to help me with. For one, whenever I record into a program like Audacity, it only lets me record stereo, but then only records through one ear. If I record on mono, there is no sound at all.

And my other question is why this setup won't work in skype as my normal microphone? Suppose I wanted to record a skype call for some reason, would I just have to have skype going through a cheap microphone and actually only record from my At2020 at the same time? The Lexicon Alpha shows up in skype, but it doesn't register any noise in the computer.

Hope anyone can help! :)

Firstly, skip Audacity and move to Reaper. Audacity has its uses but you'll be better off in the long run with a full features DAW. And yes you should be mono with a single mic. You have Audacity set up to record a stereo input by default which you can change in the settings. Because you are only recording one side of a stereo track that is why its only coming out one side of your headphones.
