I built my own tele custom-style guitar last year, and now its my main axe (which is cool...). I put a burstbucker #2 in the neck, and a Lace T-150 in the bridge, since I needed something that was hot enough to balance well enough with the bucker in the neck. Now, I'm not naive enough to think that the lace will ever be louder, and its not a HUGE deal since I use the neck pickup a lot surprisingly for my warm solos, but I would like to be able to switch to my bridgel 100% to crank some more cutting leads.
I have experimented with pickup adjustments. i used the "Nickel-Spacing Techinique" (I will explain for those who dont know what I'm talking about) and while they are better balanced, the bridge at full volume just isn't "Cutting it" (pun intended)
anyone have some good tidbits on balancing pickups? I love my bucker..so I'm thinking of picking up a different bridge PU...

You can install a coil tap switch or yes, you can install a new push/pull pot that will do the coil tapping for you.

On my tele I had the pickup installed for me professionally so I didn't install the coil tap switch myself.
Pots are easy enough to replace though and a push/pull pot would be fun I'm sure.

I understand what you mean about the Lace pickup. I like Lace pickups but they've never scored high with me on Output.
The Little 59er sounds great in the Tele bridge spot, has gobs of output and I had a coil tap installed at the same time so I could still get that single coil bite when I wanted it. The 59er has enough edge to cut through the mix while putting out enough power to keep up with your burstbucker.
