CD tracks convert to wav?

hi guys! Is there any way of "getting" a CD track from a CD and make it a wav file? I know Windows recognises tracks as files, but I've never been able to download them to a hard disk.

any help?

You can also record the output of CD player via the direct out if it has one or the headphones output into your sound card using most any recording program as two mono tracks and you'll have two .wav files.
