Wow! A great player and a good sounding room can make a cheap PA system sound great. Beppe was doing a Taylor guitar workshop at hotel conference auditorium in Roanoke, VA. I walked into the room and saw the Peavey PA and a LDC mic that I didn't recognize (it was an AKG Perception 100) and thought we were in for some sonic trouble. But the room was suprisingly good. If you talked reasonably loudly on the stage you didn't need amplification. No echos and pretty even frequency response. The guy running the PA used only enough volume for clarity in the back rows so we were hearing a good bit of the guitar and vocals directly. And of course Beppe blew the doors off. Amazing touch and dynamic control. I guess when you are that good an audiophile PA isn't that important.
