Hey y'all,

This is my first time posting here and I hope you guys can help me figure this one out.

I'm trying to make some tunes in logic pro but I am not getting any audio response from the tracks I have set from my interface. This is strange for me because I use the same parameters every time I record and haven't had an issue till now.

To paint a picture, I am running a Tascam US-1800 into my macbook pro through a USB connection. From there I am running that into Logic PRO, having my US-1800 as the audio input (bit accurate) and my computer as the audio output.

When I select the input from my interface that I want to record from (in this case, I am running my guitar direct into input 9) it is not monitoring any sound from it. I figured that my interface wasn't getting anything from my guitar, but when I turn the gain nob for that input all the way up and strum my guitar, the light next to the nob turns red indicating distortion from that signal. So it's at least picking up sound.

When I turn on my interface, Logic recognizes the device, so I know the communication is working between the two things.

I tried switching out quarter inches for my guitar, changing the USB 2.0 connection from the back of my interface into my computer, double checking my audio preferences in logic, and even just restarting my computer, but no luck. I figured it might be an issue within logic, so I tried out Garageband but I had the same result.

I use this setup all the time and always have audio so I have no clue why this isn't working but hopefully maybe one of y'all can take a crack at it.

Thanks!

Im not a logic user but i can suggest a couple things.

Are the speakers on? (Lol ive been there)

Is the master volume on the interface up?

Are the logic channel and master faders up?

Is the track record enabled?

In / out routing correct?

Do other logic sessions that worked before, still work?

Are the speakers plugged in completely?

Does the interface have its own control panel/mixer window, with nothing muted?

Sorry i don't have an absolute answer for you.

My first question as a long time logic user, why are you using your mac as audio output instead of the tascam?. Either way, you need to check in Logics audio settings that you do in fact have the audio selections correct. Also, check that your audio/midi settings for OSX see your interface and that you are getting sounds out of your speakers when running it's test.

Cheers,
