Hey All

have a question about L and R monitor perspesctive and wondering if it matters.

my nearfields are set up L and R on the desk so that "L" is actually to the left of my desk (facing the room) anbd "R" is on the right. when i face the desk my right ear is actually hearing sound coming from the Left Speaker and vice versa. I have always done this and am wondering (after a long day or recalibrating a 2nd pair of monitors last night) if I have been listening to my mixes in reverse all these years. of course when i put my headphones on for reference my mix switches over to left output/left ear right output/right ear).

so my questions is: facing out towards the room from my monitors perspective, which is the proper (er industry standard) way to set up the Left and Right speaker?

thanks...i hope everyone is having a great day
