I have a question for all of you DAW guys/gals out there. I started recording with a Korg D1600 and was doing everything on that until a friend hooked me up with Cubase. Once I got Cubase, I would record onto the Korg, transfer the tracks to CD and load those tracks into Cubase where I would mix them. Now that I am getting better with the software and my recording techniques, I am interested in moving to a better system. Moving between the two units (Korg and DAW) wastes a lot of time and causes a lot of headaches. I have been thinking about getting 2 Firepods to track 16 tracks at once directly into Cubase and possibly getting some type of control surface for mixing. Is this a feasible idea? If you DAW people have any ideas on how to do things better or have any experience that you want to share (things you shouldn't have done, things you wish you did) then please let me know. I have been researching this for about 6 months now and before I make the leap I'd like to get the opinions of some real people.
