Parents are getting a new house, and I'm stuck with the tandem garage for my studio. They did tell me I can have things put in the room..

Any suggestions..

soundproofwalls
wooden floors

what else?

what should I say about grounding?

My studio is going to be for making beats with midi/cubasesx2 and vocals for Rap and R&B music. I think my dad also wants to buy a drum set in the future, if that makes a difference.

Anywhoo, I need all of your help.

Still a newbie,

Wooden floors are unnecessary ..

Is the garage finished or just studs?

As far as electrical / grounding, you need to see to it that all your gear is connected to the same circuit to eliminate ground loops ... other than that, grounding shouldn't be too much of an issue..

Room treatments would be a good thing to think about. Bass Traps will be mandatory if you want to be able to hear accurately in your new space. Check out the acoustic forum here at RO for acoustical advice.

Lucky You! I tried for years to get the garage for a studio when I lived with my parents .. to no avail ... my Dad wouldn't give up the space ... his precious "Rambler" meant more to him than me having a studio ...
