Ok, so here's the deal. I have a little internet troll friend that's been obsessed with me for a few months now (on another website). I plan on posting my myspace url as soon as I get up my first song. I am 100% certain this person will start a new account and claI'm that they are me and the music is theirs, while proceding to be a complete jackass. They've done so with every single picture I post, and I don't really care. But my music is a whole different ball game. I really don't need my music to be associated with a loser like this, and I've been looking for a good way to get rid of this person, so are there any legal actions I can take against someone for doing this? I've read a lot of music law, but I'm not sure what exactly this would fall under. Technically, it's not copyright infringement, but they are still claiming to be me and the owner of my music. And it's not so easy as "have the mod's ban them," because the mods are fairly useless, so if I can threaten serious legal action, that would be awesome. Thanks for any help.

Not sure about "cyber stalking"

As to your music if it is copyrighted you can sue him for copyright infringement. Suggest talking to your local law enforcement people to see what cyber stalking/identity theft statues are in force where you live.

This is becoming a whole new area for lawyers and politicians to deal with and I know there are various laws designed to protect people from just such threats but what they are and where there are in effect is not something that I am familiar with. You might try doing some searches on the WWW and look under cyber stalking. You could start here http://www.haltabuse.org/resources/laws/ With just a quick check of the web and I found pages and pages dealing with this and it seems to be a hot topic right now.

Best of luck.

Awesome. Thanks, Thomas. I'll give that a good look through.

Well that doesn't give me long to live...64 eh? Cheers.

Actually I blame the clock. 3am here just now. And I see the added index.shtml as well.
Although that's me just noticed the extra . at the end.
Sheesh.

Oh and my ears seem to go in between 16 and 20k, given some experiments run on a software EQ earlier. 180dB cut on everything but 16k region, I can hear it. Same on 20k and I hear nothing.
