E-MU 1820/1820M HELP!

I'm recording drum tracks over the next few weeks. It used to work fine, now one of my condenser mics likes to dip in power while recording. For example, the right comes through just fine with an even frequency, the left comes through, but the frequency drops in size/volume for a few seconds, then returns.

Problem w/ E-MU 1820M

I have Windows XP Media Edition on a Sony VAIO Pentium Duo Core. I have my E-MU 1820M installed and until recently, have not had a problem. In the past few weeks my sound cuts out for about 1-2 seconds at random times. It also pops and skips a second or a half during playback sometimes. I tried getting new driver and Patchmix program hotfix updates from E-MU, but I already have the latest versions installed. The first problem stated has only happened in the last 2 days or so. The second, about 2 weeks or so.

HELP- Emu 1616m or 1820m

Hey Guys,

First of all i've read most relevant threads about these two products but still needed clarification...

Im considering the following soundcards for my PC and wasnt sure which one was the better option (1616m v 1820m).. Now i live in Australia and both cards retail for $1200 AUD, but the only problem is, that the 1616m has not been released in Australia yet.. I know the converters are the same in both, but which one is more so worth getting?

EMU 1820m problems...please help

Ok, Im in a jam and need some assistance. I run a 3.2ghz pentium 4 with 1gb ram and a emu 1820m card and audio dock. I have had this installed with no problems since this card has come out, routinely updating the software when it is available. So heres the problem, I left my computer on overnight( not uncommon) and when I arrived in the morning, the audiodock was lit up like the 4th of july, and it wasnt being recognised by my computer, or even accessable to reinstall drivers. I have removed the audio dock, cards, drivers and program.

e-mu 1820m unusual microphone question

Hey, i don't know if this is the best forum to ask this in, but it's the weekend and i can't call emu tech support.

I have a headset with a mic that i use when playing games online to talk to people. The headset has a stereo (two red rings) 1/8 jack for the microphone. The problem is that the emu cards and the audiodock don't have any 1/8 inputs. It has 6 1/4 inputs though.

So i went to radio shack and got a 1/8 stereo to 1/4 mono adaptor. A signal shows up but it's incredibly low. The only time it pics up sound is if i blow directly into the headset mic.

PreSonus Eureka AD192 with EMU1820M sync issue

I am using the SPDIF out on my PreSonus Eureka to my EMU1820M SPDIF in. My host is set for 44Khz and my Eureka is set for the same. I am getting a low level crackle on my audio. If I set the Eureka to 88KHz it goes away but the tone suffers a tad.
Does anyone know If I need to use the BNC world clock to sync the EUreka to the EMUs 44Khz?

Thanks

Pan problems with emu 1820m

Hello ?

How are you doing? Can I ask you a question about how to set up the pan during audio recording. I'm more a composer then a engineer and I'm having some problems to setup some new gear. Somehow I'm loosing sound in the centre of the sound spectrum.

Can you tell me of my sound-chain is setup right for panning.

I have heard very good things about the E-MU 1820m and am seriously thinking about buying it. My PC meets all the system requirements, my processor is 2.70 GHz but it is a celeron processor. Someone else mentioned that there might be a compatibility issue between celeron processor and this soundcard. Does anyone have experience or heard about this?
