I use Cubase and I'm trying out various analog sequencer-style free plugins in order to create Tangerine Dream Berlin school short MIDI monophonic note sequences. One thing that seems to be missing is the facility to continuously modulate the gate (note) length.

I'm using an old Roland CR-78 drum machine. It has both Hi Imp. and Low Imp. outputs on the back (taking mono 1/4" jacks).
Is it safe to use both of these at the same time or will i kill the machine? It would enable me to have one clean channel (High Imp.) and another channel (Low Imp.) running through a chain of effects. Both going into my mixer.
