balanced outs into unbalanced rca ins on my soundcard?
... i like what i've heard about the m audio dmp3 mic preamp, and am wondering if i would have a problem running out of the balanced outs on the pre to the unbalanced ins on my audiophile 24/96 card using a quality 1/4 inch to rca cable?
thanks-jv

balanced/unbalanced
Can someone explain the whole balanced/unbalanced thing to me? I don't think I'm quite understanding it. What is balanced? What is unbalanced? What is each type of connection used for?
thank you,
Nick

Mixing Balanced and Unbalanced Gear
Hello,
I understand that going from a balanced piece of gear to an un-balanced piece results in a drop of 6 decibles. In this case Mackie balanced outs to HHB Cd Recorder un-balanced RCA ins.

Balanced vs. . UnBalanced: Question
Hello.
I don't mean to bring up an elementary topic, but can someone go into an explanation of Balanced vs Unbalanced inputs/cables and what the difference is? For example, I am going to try to patch my 24 channel mixer to a bay but I am not sure what cables to use and if it will make a difference at all.
I appreciate everyone's comments.
Thanks,
Michael

balanced vs. . unbalanced
Let's say I have a mixer w/ unbalanced i/o and another piece of gear w/ balanced i/o and they're both connected in both ways ins and outs. Is there any way to transform the unbalanced signal into balanced? If yes, how should it be done and pricewise does it worth to be done in many channels?
