AT4060 as Decca Tree?

Thomas

I thought it would be a good idea to put this in a new thread after reading your post on the Small Format Mic Stand thread.

It's an interesting idea to use AT4060s in a Decca Tree. I have always considered this mic to behave like a wide cardioid in its pickup from the front, but ordinary cardioid from behind.

Mastering classical music

Hi,

As a classically educated musician also fooling around with a home studio in rather different genres than the classical, I recently came to think where the mastering of classical music differs from mastering rock, popular and jazz music; or is there any difference at all? And in a home studio, if trying to make a "home studio" master, which approach would you take?

Which mic is best for recording bass drum?

I see time after time when it comes to Micing a bass drum, some choose between a decent condenser or a high pressure (one that comes to mind is the AKG D112) dynamic mic. Some others are the Shure beta series. I know when eq is applied, it's usually curved or set around or about 100Hz. What's mostly used to get that deep thump on most recordings?

a) Would someone please explain here the differences between E22 and E32? shall be a stupid question tough.LOL One error plus...

b) Based On Disc Makers mnual of How to produce nice masters... they recommend people tosubmit media or ask for the plant to submit to E32 tests and so. That is why I always write on my Cd masters : SUBMIT TO E32 TEST BEFORE REPLICATION

hi friends!I have just finished the recording, editing and mixing of the fourth CD of a local Camerata orchestra.

It was a budget project, entirely done on a bad acoustical place, but with efforts to make it sound really good. Three days with an 8 hour recording period on each.
