Hi gang...
Yesterday, my computer's cooling fan started kicking into high ever few minutes or so.
This is the cooling fan on the bottom of the tower, not the intake fan over the power supply
It did this without any warning or symptoms...
I have some rack mounted gear enclosed in a box, and I am questioning whether the cooling fans are facing the correct way. Currently, they are blowing air inside, towards the equipment. Should they be faced to where they are blowing the air out (exhausting the hot air)?

One of the other topics has sort of digressed into a very pertinent topic with regards to any computer.
Keeping things cool yet quiet.
In light of that I thought I'd post some of the things I do to ensure quality operation of my machines.
I am just shopping for a pc case and wonder if there are any that is based on convection for cooling? I am concern about electrical bills and environmental issues.
If there a DIY plan somewhere where I can put my woodworking skills to good use too?

Does anyone here use a water cooling system for their DAW? I have seen a lot of people writing about getting quieter fans, but it seems that if you really want a quiet system, you should spend more cash and get a nice water cooling system.
If any of you out there is using one of these you probably have noticed the loud fan noise that comes with it.
I would like to mimize this noise or eliminate it completely if that is even an option.
Does anyone know what to do about this?
Our AC unit hasnt been working correctly lately and we dont have the money to fix it yet.

Can anyone advise me if they're running a power amp that has a cooling fan but is still very quiet?
I'd like a studio amp that can double for live performance once in a while to run some stage monitors. I doubt that any of the fan-less models, such as Hafler, are really up to the task of running full tilt in a live situation. Thanks for your suggestions!
so I used the Zalman flower heat sink and fan (variable control) in my new ANUS because it is reportedly quiet. I also used the Enermax 350W P/S with the variable speed control for the same reason. Currently i have both fans running high and it's pretty loud. Obviously I can turn them both down, but I do not know what are acceptable temps for the mobo (P4PE) and P4 2.4B.
