cheap monitors

I'm looking into purchasing some and they can be obscenely expensive.
but I figure I should make it sound good on the cheap stuff and then it will sound good on everything.

so what do you think about the $150 monitors?

Hi everyone,

My current "monitoring" setup is a pair of Boston Acoustics CR8s hi-fi speakers and a Yamaha subwoofer. I get some translation issues with this system, especially in the upper mid-range.

I'm considering going with either a set of cheap monitors (under $500, was looking at MSP5s) or getting a pair of Avantone Mixcubes. I plan on leaving the BAs connected as well.

can anyone subgest cheap mixing monitors under $500 the pair (besides NS10s). I would like to have a subwoofer too, but if this price range doesnt allow it, I'll live. anyone?
