Mixer for Drums - 12 XLR condenser mics & band
New here and also new at this.
I'm trying to find a mixer for drums and hopefully band as well.
Drums have 12 XLR condenser mics, all needing phantom power.
I'm thinking of 16-24 channels, but like I said, I'm brand new to mixing and I would appreciate any and all help.
It would be nice to be able to record as well, but a mix is the main thing here.
Suitable Condenser mic for Universal Audio 6176?
Hi Guys,
Just wonder if anyone can recommend a mic that works well with a Universal Audio 6176? For example Neumann U87, Sony C800G etc. Is that a great combination? Thinking of buying a great microphone. Until now I have used some cheaper ones, not getting the sound that I want. So if anyone has any ideas please let me know.
Thanks
M
Clamp on condenser for guitar?
hi guys,
I was recording an acoustic guitar with my ungainly XY rig in front of it and there were pretty major changes in volume as he moved even a bit. I threatened to nail him to the floor but that didn't help.:x:x:x

Marshall MCA SP1 Condenser Microphone
I just purchased this microphone and it says that it requires phantom power. First I want to ask would it work if I just plugged it into my computer. And I brought a mixer that has the two red and white inputs on it and I want to hook it up to my computer, does anyone know how to do this?

cleaning the diaphram on a condenser mic
I have a Neumann tlm 103, and was wondering if anyone knew about cleaning the diaphram. I was told by a local dealer here in san diego that Neumann will go through the mic and bring it back up to specs n all for $100.00. I'm not worried yet, but a decent ammount of dust is begenning to collect on the electrostatic diaphram.

Storing condenser mics
When you store your mics, do you keep them in their huge aluminum flight cases, or put them in smaller, zippered pouches? Right now I have all my mics in their big ass cases, but I'm finding that only one or two will fit in each drawer of storage boxes(courtesy of Target). Is there a better space-saving solution when it comes to storing condenser mics?
