Feedback Wanted: DPA SMK4060 or 4061 Stereo Kits
Hello,
I am looking at a stereo mic kit to do simple remote recordings of live performances. Fairly diverse music genres - some chamber music, some big band, and some bluegrass. Most will be in a few decent halls in my region.
I have a collection of decent studio mics in pairs (AT4050's, SM81's,RODE NT5's), some good "spot mics"
DPA 4060 vs. . 4061 recording acoustic guitar
Hi
For recording acoustic guitar (and sometimes placing the mic within the guitar itself), which would be better: the DPA 4060 or the 4061?
DPA 4060 demo CD
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has heard the demo CD for this mic.
I don't know what they were thinking with the shoot-outs between different mics.
The vocal shoot-out convinced me I wanted a U87.
The guitar section shows how wonderful the Sennhieser MKH series is.

dpa 4060 as distant mic?
I've been considering the dpa4060 as a very discreet all-purpose omni. Would it be suitable for more distant micing? I've heard some great recordings where it was used in a binaural system, but in each case the sound source was quite loud, so the SN ratio didn't really matter.
Thanks
John

DPA 4060 vs. . 4061
Okay, these two mics are essentially identical with the exception of the senitivity. Given their relatively high noise floor, I would think that, for stringed instruments the high sens (4060) would be the better choice. I've had a lot of experience with the 4061, but none with the 4060.
Anybody?
