Creating a larger drum sound. How did I do?

Hey All,

This is my latest composition that I recorded over the last week. As usual, I mixed it on headphones.

In contrast to some of my earlier recordings, I though I'd try out a different drum kit (courtesy of EZDrummer) and tried to sharpen my programming skills. I quite like the sounds -- seems quite 'live' but would be interested to hear what other people think.

  • I record a 4 bar drum part.
  • I successfully create a solid loop using these tracks.
  • I export the looped tracks.
  • I import the newly exported file to it's own track and - I now have a working loop in the new track.

Recording with electronic drums in a business

I am starting a mobile recording studio business in my area. I am getting a custom trailer built that is 8'x24'x7.5'. My original plan was to build a 8'x14' live room and record real drums, but after doing some reading it seems like it might be difficult to get a good drum sound in such a small room.

Hi Just joined in the hope to further my knowledge.

Im currently using Logic Pro to record and produce tracks. But I'm fairly in the dark as to how i can produce a drum track without Micing up a kit. so i would like to know what i need to program drums for a particular track that I'm recording. is there a plugin for logic? or do i need a completely separate program?

Hey RO'ers, I have a dilemma that I need help with. I am trying to teach myself how to program my own drum tracks using Reason's Redrum. I was wondering if anyone wouldn't mind explaining to me the whole "steps" and "resolution" concept. My problem is that I really don't "think like a drummer" so I'm having a hard time with programming my drums.

Help with Drum Programming

I am starting to do some drum tracks, and I have gotten to the point where the simple GM drums just aren't cutting it anymore.

I want to record electronica style drums (tr808 or 909 style). I have Cubase SX 2 and Soundfonts and a simple MIDI controller keyboard. Ideally, I would like to use a general midi drum map, as simpler is better.

Just wanted to let everyone know I finally finished an application note up on my website on how to program the Boss BR-1600CD drum machine. I've had a lot of people ask me for this application note because they couldn't understand the user's manual. Hopefully this app note will help.

Hey RO'ers, I need a little advice on how to begin the proces of recording my own drums. I have searched the forums and haven't exactly found the answer that I am looking for. I have been producing music in my small home studio for about a year now and I would like to begin doing my own drum tracks.
