The Infamous Fostex MN-50
Hello everyone,
Hello everyone,
Very cool history on Sam Phillips / Elvis' sound and slap back echo. I've always wondered what Ampex 350 was about.
it gets real good about 20 minutes in.
My good friend and professional comrade, Bruce Kane of Sterling Productions in Sterling, Virginia, has finally decided to give up his famous SunSetSound, custom Paul Wolff API console.
Hello
First of all I have to say that english is not my own lengauge, so please forgive me if some sentences in this thread seems a bit incorrect.
My basic DAW is composed of an AMD Athlon 3500 pc,1 GB ram, an Echo Layla 3G soundcard and a pairs or Event tr8 xl monitors.
I have no idea why or how, but recently I was allowed to record a pretty famous pianist. I will not mention his name here in case I might get into trouble for sharing his recording, but his name can be found in the MP3's ID3 tag. Please don't call him by name here.
need a thread that can be referenced.can only speak for myself but it would be enormously helpful in knowing some of the equiptment use to record famous tunes.have read behind the glass by howard massey and as a reference i have all the gear used in that book highlighted.it's just so great knowing just what gear in the right hands is truly capable of.keep it simple artist, eng, song title, known
Hi
I was wondering... if I use a few samples from Loleatta Holloway's accapella "Love Sensation". Then from where can I get copyright to it for publishing my own song with her vocal samples on CD or vinyl.
I couldn't find anything from the web.
Thanx
Kinda like the guy that ws asking aobut the Micing on Miles Davis' album, I'm wondering if there is any books or websites that talk about the intimate recording details of how some of our more famous recordings were done, and/or how recording engineers have handled certian situations in the studios?
