Are VSTs within a DAW subject to any distortion while their digital audio is rendered in any way?

I'm doing a few tests to see what sounds better. In your opinion which do you like better fidelity wise.
It's not an exact test as it's not the same performance, just looking for opinions on which sounds better.

In music electronics, this term indicates how faithful a reproduced signal is to the original. For example, a "high-fidelity" signal would be a very true representation of the original sound.
