Master fader out levels for mix down.
In Cubase, if I wanting to do an audio mix down (in order to master in Wavelab using processing), what is a safe level for the master outs? Should I keep it in the green-yellow (or can it creep into the read every so often? Should I not let it past 0db (as I can always increase it during mastering)?

CUBASE MIDI-FADER NOT RESPONDING.
I use about 4 soft synth modules. Of course, each of these has volume setting built into the face. Obviously, I have a MIDI channel (with a fader) assigned for each synth too.

VCA vs. . moving fader (sonically)
i realize most people prefer moving fader and there is a general conception that it is less degrading of one's signal. however are there not sufficient and high performance VCA's now a-days that are up to par with moving fader? is this conception primarily based on the old implementation of VCA's in older consoles?

Control Mix with Master Fader or Leave at 0?
Hi everyone . I was just wondering if it's a bad idea to control the mix with the Master Fader in Cubase . I read somewhere that your supposed to always leave it at 0 Db, and mix within those parameters.

Newbie pro tools le pre fader metering
I'm new to using pro tools. I have experience recording into an ADAT recorder using an analog board. I know the difference between pre and post fader modes.
When recording or doing a final mix in pro tools, should the pre fader metering be turned on or off? I am not using any EQ when recording the tracks.
Thanks,
MWP

Master level / fader level / spill
I recently did a budget gig. I got all sort of complaints on the main mix. People said they could only "see" my guitarsolo's but not hear them and there was way too much drum and bass. We didn't have a pro sound engineer like we do on normal gigs, but a former pro (so I was told) who volunteered.

Master Fader at unity gain?
During final mixdown to 2-track - is there any loss of sonic quality if the master fader on the console is not at 0dB?
I think I'm hearing a slight degradation in sound, but maybe it's just me?
Thanks, Dingo

First Fader Up
I'm quite new in the art of mixing. The thing is i allways start my mixes 0dB OHL & 0dB OHR,and from there on. This metoHD allways worked for me but i would like to know which are the one you "daily mixers" use, and in which styles of music you start this way and in which the other way around.
