I believe that you once suggested using rubber "O" rings to replace worn elastic in microphoone shockmounts, as purchased at automotive supply stores. I've checked some stores and catalogs and can't find any long enough.



Any suggested sources or should I contact Neumann for their elasto-cord?

Hi Harvey and everyone.

Posted this after reading your post in the nearfield post. Like most here I've done most of my mixing on nearfields, but I'm building a new room and I'm struggling with the whole soffit mount speaker thing at the moment.

Basically I'm wondering if you could ramble on a bit about mounting bigger speakers and perhaps recommend some brands I could look into.

Did I dream it or did I read in another forum where you said McQ was a couple weeks away from unleashing this mythic beast upon the world? If I was dreaming, please forgive me dragging this dead horse out for another round of kicking.

Didn't you install an MCI? How's it going? War stories? What kind of a difference is it over the Soundtracs? Changes in work style? Since this is the kind of move a lot of small steppers dream of, it'd be interesting to hear about.

I was told that Harvey has a great list of products that are cheap and sound really well for their price. I am talking about stuff like mic preamp's, mics, compressors (outboard stuff), studio monitors etc...



Can you recommend some less expensive products?

Also, when I get my SPA modded version from SPA, are you interested in checking that out too? If so, maybe I'll just have them send it to you... What would be another two weeks or so?
