Us small-steppers miss our daily Harvey fix. Too bad we have to get it on R.A.P. What's up with that?

Harvey has been incredibly generous sharing his knowlege over the years. Is his run as an RO moderater over?

Thanks for the memories.

P.S.-the pond froze yesterday.

It sure looked like you were MIA when you never answered Bear's question of 11/21 regarding the status of your "new" monster MCI console.

Or maybe that's a touchy subject at the moment (I hope not).

In any case, I miss you around here and hope that you and your family are feeling fine and doing well.

And as Stephen Paul said recently, "pray for analog".

Actually, I don't have much time on the MCI - my son Alex is doing most of the stuff in the new room. We don't have the patchbays labeled completely yet, so it's hard figuring out exactly where everything is at this point. But, the few times I've used it, I teally like it, although I haven't even started on figuring out the automation yet.

This thing is a lot like some of the old analog synths I used to use - there are more ways to get NO sound out of them than there are ways to get sound out of them. On the plus side, we are not gonna need a heater in the control room this winter.

So... Does the heat come from the power supplies or from the board? I got a really cheap MCI 618 recently, not installed yet.

I was thinking of putting power supplies in the basement. The board's going in a small room, where heat is already an issue in the summer. I can put in a bigger window unit... but you have to shut those things off when you actually want to hear something...Eric Agner
