Description

LUFS stands for Loudness Units relative to Full Scale and is still the latest and most accurate technology available for measuring perceived audio loudness. Today LUFS are used to set audio level standards in film, broadcast television, radio, and on streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.

Something I've never really considered in all my years recording is wrapped around these new 'requirements' for the streaming platforms - LUFS.

Hi

I've used a couple of mastering engineers over the years but have been using one more recently over the last year, he is someone I know too.

Today Ive just sat down to put a compilation of mastered songs together (level matching them myself).

Are there proof that spotify normalize audio at -14LUFS?

Are there proof that spotify normalize audio at -14LUFS?

I did some empirical A/B comparison between mp3s donwloaded on my pc and audio streamed on spotify.

I choosed this quite loud songs on pourpose:

King of Convenience - Misread -10 LUFS

Radiohead - Burn The Which-9.5 LUFS

Beck - Colors -6.5 LUFS

Hi gang,

I've been reading a lot about mastering for different distribution method and I'm just not finding a clear answer. What LUFS target should we use for different media ?

Here's 2 I read :

-13 LUFS for youtube

-8 LUFS for CD

? Vevo

? Websites

? Radio

...

PT TDM Reverb plufs: Altiverb, Waves Rev, Dverb, TV Re

Have you guys evaluated the reverb plugins for TDM systems?

Seems Altiverb and Lexicon really rules. However, Lexiverd is not available for PT HD systems, right?

If anyone has already used Altiverb, is it really power hungry?
