Doing a Live Recording, Need Suggestions On Drum Mics

Forums

So, Im doing a small live recording in a couple weeks. When I say small, it'll be just drums, keyboards, guitar, bass, and sax. For drums, I have and AKG D112, Shure Beta 57 and Shure 57, Shure SM81, and a BeyerDynamics M 201 TG. The Drum Kit I will be recording will have a kick, snare, hi -hat, 2 toms, and cymbals.

Live PA

Hello guys,

This isn't recording related but I use this forum for help some times and thought someone might be able to advise.

If I get a pair of Active PA speakers or passive speaks with an amp is there ANY reason I wouldn't be able to use a Zoom R16 as a mixer for the purposes of a small live gig for about 150-200 people.

Live event with Mackie Onyx 1640i, 10+ channels

There's a music event next week that I have to record, and I was hoping to get some advice. There will be about 10-12 channels (3 vocals, guitarist, percussion, and a few other instruments), and we are using a Mackie Onyx 1640i which has a Firewire interface. I have a Dell Precision 6600 PC laptop (8 GB, Quad Core i7, approx 150GB free space), and I'll be using Mixcraft 6 as my DAW.
