I have had pretty good results just plugging stuff up and making it all work.
I think its time to start doing it correctly.
I bought a Yamaha 3210 monitor mixer for my home studio. Its got 32 channels and 10 buss channels.
It seems a great match for me. I have lots of instruments, and an 8 channel interface.
Newbie here. I was unable to find an active Mackie forum or one dedicated to live sound. If anyone can suggest a more appropriate place, please do so. I’m not very well-versed in this sort of thing.
Quick questions... I know that some groups have separate monitor mixers on stage. Just curious, but how do they get the inputs of the FOH board and the monitor board to correspond? Where does the signal split? Would I have to run a cable from every channel from the FOH to the inputs on the Monitor mixer? Or does it go through the monitor board first? Just a little confused...
