I have some questions about digitizing audio cassette tapes. I have done it many times, but this is more about optimizing the quality.

-Laptop: Acer Aspire 3 a315 53 35 fq, 4GB RAM, dual core

I recently had a problem with cracks and pops in my audio during recording and playing back. What I did according do help from friends and forums :

-Used the Tascam dsp mixer for monitoring instead of Cubase to save processing power

I left off on xp years ago. Just wondering what you guys have been doing to w10 to streamline it. Any advice and links would be much appreciated.

Hey guys, I just purchased an Ashly XR 1001 unit with the intention of using it in a 3-way mono old school setup trying to get back the sound I had back in the 80s.

I've read that win7 64 Window Media Center (WMC) is a resource hog. Can drain up to 50%. Also read that deactivating the sync is what to do. Do you have yours removed, disabled, what?
