overhead drum mics

Just looking to get some opinions about which mics everyone prefers to use for recording drums overhead.

hello everyone I'm new to the site and somewhat to recording dabbled a little bit here an there anyway just wanted to get some input on overhead drum Micing the thing is i dont have a matched stereo pair of condersers but i do have two there both medium budget mxl's a 603 and 2003 which is more a vocal mic

This is what I'm looking for in my price range, around 3-400 bucks. I want a good condensor (most likley be getting a matched pair) to cover overheads on a kit, maybe also decent for vocals and room mics.

I play drums in a cover band that gigs often. Small to medium clubs and outdoor functions as well. I woulld like to overhead vs close mic. I have a Shure Beta 52 for the kick and Shure SM57 for snare.

I'm going to start recording soon and i was wondering if anyone knows what is a good inexpensive overhead drum microphone is a bass drum microphone is?

i'd be Micing each drum individually so they will just be for cymbals. is it worth getting a 2 channel compressor? i'll probably use an ART DMPA for a preamp.
