I am looking very hard at Sebatron right now for either a dual Pre 2000e VU or the Thorax channel strip. I have not made up my mind yet what my goal is. My DAW is SAW and the comp's and EQ on the channels are very very good so i am leaning towards a dual pre.

Pendulum MDP-1 and Millennia HV-3 Preamps

I recently asked a question about the Buzz MA 2.2 and Millennia HV-3 for recording of acoustic based music (with vocals) on another forum. From my limited experience, which is essentially with Lynn Funston's Pre CD, I found the Buzz to be warmer/less open than the HV-3. I like the clearer more open and transparent sound of the HV-3.

I'm new at this, Recording to ADAT XT, looking for two Rubber Soul sounding preamps. Two respected audio dealers have suggested Telefunken V72 or Pendulum MDP 1B. Does anyone use these? Is it better to buy used vintage or new with warranty? Any Telefunken users know of any problems that I can expect? Thanks, Don

For everything a DI is supposed to do, I want a killer. How does the DI portion of the Pendulum MDP-1 compares with the DW FEARN or the EVIL TWIN? Same league? For general DI applications, mostly sweetening synth sounds...on the way into the DAW... Which one of these machines would you choose? And why? Awe scew it...I'm going to get the Pendulum first...
