GT Brick problem? sounds distorted and crackly!

Submitted by JLiRD808 on Thu, 10/15/2009 - 01:12

Ive been trying to troubleshoot a scratchy distorted sound that comes and goes in my signal chain. I have a strong feeling that its coming from my GT brick since Ive pretty much replaced/ruled everything else out. It makes my signal weak..(both mic and instrument in) and scratchy and then its normal for a second and then its scratchy and weak again. Its pretty frustrating as u can imagine.

i have an mbox 2 and i am trying to record vocals using a Shure sm57 mic but in order to get good enough levels i have to crank the input as close as i can to max on the mbox and even then i have to be super careful cause if i go any higher i get poor quality audio.

Mix down problems

I am using Pro Tools TDM 6.4.9. I am having a problem that for some inexplicable reason, when I bounce a song to disk that has two guitars in it, the guitar that is panned left is almost muted when i play back the new file. Also, I find that on some other tracks, all of my panning is removed and everything stays in the center after I bounce. Any ideas?

60Hz Hum Problem

Hey all, please bear with me on this:

I run sound in a small bar/venue, and everything was ghetto-rigged when I took over here. The other day I was in the ceiling running new power cables for the front of house, lights, and an RCA pair from our Yamaha MG20c's REC out to the house stereo so DJs and bands can be heard on the outdoor speakers.
