Swissonic 88 note Master Keyboard pros and cons

I got asked about the keyboard people could see in the various videos on microphones - it's  a Swissonic 88 note master keyboard and it's got loads of faders and rotary controls, plus a set of drum pads - I've recorded what comes out of Cubase and what the mic in the studio can hear - make your own mind up.

Patchbay pads signal by -18db

Hi,

I was testing this old Tascam PB-32 patchbay by running a 1'4" cable from one of the back jacks into the line in on my console, then plugging a bass into the matching jack on the front. It worked, but it attenuated the signal by -18db when compared to the bass plugged directly into the line in on the console. Does anyone know if this is normal for Tascam patchbays?

Using drumsticks on M-Audio Axiom pads

Hello to all,
I have an Axiom 49 from M-Audio. Very nice product.
I was wondering if I could use a pair of drumsticks to hit the pads. I don't think really hit them hard...just enough to produce the sound i need. Will this make the pad ware out? or even make the pad malfunction? Any experiences? Any advices for the type of drumsticks to use?

Pads for Syteks

Hello all. Just purchased the Sytek MPX-4Aii mic preamps, and will apparently need to pad down the signal in order to run the pres "hot" to my DAW. Any ideas about the most cost-effective way to achieve this?

I have a Mackie 1202-- will this work? I suppose I could run two channels through the main outs and two channels through the Auxes. Just wondering if there's a better way.
