Hi, all! I'm a tech-challenged home voice-over guy. I have a Mackie board in the booth with me, but the phantom power for my mic actually comes from a separate Grace Design mic preamp outside. For "old school" phone patch, is there a way to connect either a corded phone directly, or via a Gentner MicroTel box, into the Mackie mixer for two way phone conversation with a client?
I bought a small (older) Yamaha MG12/4) to be the board for a small home online radio / pod cast show I was planning on doing. One of the older heavy ones without USB connection as I thought I could rig up a connection to the lap top.

well i got some beats playing in general midi but obviously i want something more nasty than gm.
i have fruit loops and have also downloaded a soundfont player but how do i get them to work in Cubase le.
How should I connect a mixer to an edirol UA-1A device to record into the computer? What should I use as monitors (receiver and speakers?, PA?) and how do I hook that up to the output of the UA-1A? I've been trying to record with this equipment for awhile now and i think i'm not setting it up properly. Thank you so much if anyone can help. .

OK, so I'm trying to set up the "studio" into something that I'll be able to use easily for a while to come, and I'm thinking seriously about investing in a patchbay setup.
I've gotten some new preamps, and I'm worndering how best to set things up for convenience.
I have a 24 channel snake from the studio to the control room. My console's XLR inpts are hardwired to the on board pres, and separate multipin cables feed the 2 line inputs on each channel.
I have an Alesis Studio32 board with unbalanced TRS inserts on each channel and on the main outs. Like most boards of this (low) caliber, you can't just terminate these things on a patch panel. Something has to be patched in (like a RNC) or else I get no signal. My question is, what would be the most professional way of utilizing these types of insert points?
