Replacing firewire ports

I messed up my firewire ports on my MOTU 8pre.. I was in a hurry and plugged it in upside down. I'm figuring thats whats wrong with it (it won't switch over to interface mode). Anyway, I took it apart and it looks simple enough to replace them, but I can't find them anywhere. If anyone knows anything of this sort please let me know. Thanks

Hissing speakers when something plugged into FireWire ports

I have a pair of Event TR-8s that are connected to my Powerbook G4 and they emit a very audible hiss (like exagerated tape hiss) when I have something connected to my Powerbook's FireWire ports. As soon as I disconnect the FireWire cable it goes away.

I have an external FireWire HD that hosts some of my sample and audio libraries and need to have connected while I work.

Adding other hardware to the Firewire ports.

Hello! I currently have a PreSonus Firestation. It's great, but... I need more inputs :-. So, I was wondering, since I am using my Firestation on my firewire card (PCMCIA), and only using 1 port (1/2), could I also hook up let's say an M-Audio Solo to the other port and also record from both hardware.

Adam p11a and front ports

Hi!

i am considering of buying the ADAM p11a monitors.
i have mixed on them and i enjoyed it very much. i have noticed one thing that realy bothered me.
the front ports make a flapping noise on bass notes. so when i tried recording bass or tuning a kick drum i got extra high frequencies coming form the bass port that were not part of the sound.

irq's (& usb ports)in use on DAW. .(edited)

I have only a modem(not in use)that was oem, and an oem ethernet pci card with nothing plugged into it,(pretty sure its not in use, as well)sharing band width with my raid controller.
I understand that # 8 if used, gives the best advantage, should I tinker?
