I've been recording in Digital Performer for years but lately I've been playing around with mostlty percussion loops on soundtrack then exporting them to DP and incorporating them into my recordings. I've bough 3 percussion loops CDs, latin percussion by Sony (Acid), latin loops by (I forgot) and latin Street by M Audio, which is basically worthless for my purposes. I've found that this is a great way to add percussion to my projects. Eventhough I am Cuban, I don't play the congas or bongos at a nowhere near a professional level but i do have a good sense of what the song needs and the 2 Cds I've been using have been working out for me.
here is the question (finally!) I've got some tracks in a Cd I'm producing by a jazzy-latin-lounge new artist, Elrod Geare. (Watch out for this guy, he is gonna be a good one!). I've added percussion to most of the tracks and I am happy with the results, but some of the cuts are in swing rhythm and my percussion loops just don't swing at all! Anyone knows of some swing percussion loops out there I can buy? Thanxs.

I was begginning to think that no one uses percussion in swing...

Well, I can send you some program (midi sequence) data, then you can setup or use whatever sound source you choose. I like to set my resolutions to a triplet based rez, depending on feel of the music. I'll check back over the weekend.
