phantom powered mic troubles

Forums

i have been using a pretty simple setup (a boss bcr 900 eight track into a desktop program)

i ran into a snag

when i use a phantom powered microphone with the 8 track, i pick up radio signals into my tracks.
dry mics are fine. but

obviously i don't want this to happen anymore. would anybody know a good way to get rid of that unwanted noise?

Behringer PMP3000 killing phantom powered condensers?

I'd love any insight or thoughts anyone could drum up here on this subject.

My band just grabbed a Behringer PMP3000 (1200W peak powered mixer - I know most Behringer gear is weak, just needed something to get by) for a little more vocal punch and the ability to play some medium sized venues that don't have a house PA.

Recording from a bands Powered Mixer to a Computer Line-in

I'm trying to do a live off the floor recording by taking the Record Tape Out on a powered mixer and plugging the 2 stereo ouputs (a Y cable) into the Line-in jack on a USB line/mic device (basically an external sound 16bit/44Khz card). The PC is a fast WinXP box with 1Gb of Ram using Audacity or Soundforge.

M Powered vs Digidesign, a few ?'s

Okay, Okay, I'm really sorry for needing to post this. I've called and talked to the vendors, and I've been doing my homework on this for the past few weeks, but I'm having a hard time compiling anything worthwhile.

I need to add a Pro Tools rig to my system, just for compatibility's sake. I don't want to replace my system, just get enough to make things transfer, I guess.

Are Mackie SRM-350 powered monitors really studio quality?

Ok I hope I'm not asking a stupid question but when Mackie claims that the SRM powered monitors are of "studio" quality are they kidding? Could those speakers actually be used to do basic tracking, and mixing? Cause at the same price as the Mackie studio monitors it sure would be sweet if one could use them for both stage and studio.

What would macgyver do?

question about m powered pro tools 7

i know that you have to use m powered pro tools with m audio interfaces and vice versa for pro le and Digidesign interfaces but can you open m powered sessions on a le system or HD system if you wanted to do some more tracking or mixing in another studio. I know you can do this with the original le systems... going between tdm, hd, and le setups. i hope this is the same for m powered to?

Bus Powered Firewire Devices

I have an M-Audio Firewire interface. It's bus powered and doesn't have a power switch. When I turn my computer off, it stays on. It is always on, unless I unplug the firewire cable. I know it's not a big deal, but it bugs the hell out of me knowing this thing is on all of the time. I know it does this with other bus powered firewire interface too.
