Preamp within $250

I have two mics, an SM58 & a RODE NT1 and am using a PreSonus Firebox for recording. I would be recording one input at a time and it would be primarily voice and sometimes acoustic guitar or amped out electric. Could someone please guide me which preamp would fit my budget of $250. I am finding the gain on the Firebox rather low with the SM58 but just about acceptable with the RODE NT1.

I Need a Quality Preamp with Lots of Clean Gain

I just bought two Mics a Shure KSM44 and a SM7b now I just need too get a nice quality matching preamp to go with them. one of my worries is too get enough good clean gain from the preamp for my SM7b Mic .which I know is going to take a lot of gain 60 to 70db any good seggestions to power it? ...I found a good used Grace within my budget. I would appreacate your advice and suggestions?

Using Guitar preamp as line preamp?

I am being told that I cannot use a Guitar preamp as a line preamp, is this correct? I simply need to get a preamp to connect to my power amp and then play a CD player through the preamp. All I need as far as controls go are the Volume, bass and treble functions so as long as the Guitar preamp has in input and Output, why can it NOT work?
