Which Preamp in the $2-400 range for acoustic /vocal rec.should i buy for a RODE NTK
Any advice would be appreciated. After reading some negative reviews for the PreSonus Bluetube mic preamp, I decided against it. ART, do they make good preamps in your opinion? Thank-you.
Mic Preamp / channel strip for the RODE NTK
Hello everyone, I ask you for one piece of advice.
I need a mic preamp for RODE NTK. I would like to improve sound and reduce noise.
Does anyone know which mic preamp would work out well?
In view of finances, I am currently limited to a maximum of about $450 / 300 eur.
I have a sound card M Audio Firewire 410.

preamp for vocals?
Im using a Rhode NT1a into 002 rack for female vocalist with
powerful voice .
Opinions on whether a preamp would be worth using and why,
which models are suited.
In the past we have used Shure 57 mics with quite good results,
but are looking for better sounding tracks.

Vocal preamp to the toneport ux 2?
is it possible to hook up a separate mic preamp amp to the toneport ux2 somehow? I dont like the preamps the pod farm comes with.
Thanks!

Mic preamp Wish List
So Im going to start gearing up in the next few years and with some good mic preamps. I havent researched these as much as I have mics probably cause they arent as sexy to look at. What I have used lately is the octopre with all the goodies on it which I love. Ive also used the ISA 428 which was good but seemed noisy if I remember right.

Preamp Tube Shootout
I recently invested in a few different tubes for my amp which only has room for a single preamp tube, the rest is solid state. I thought I'd share my findings with you. I could hear and feel a pretty nominal difference while playing through the amp, but to be honest I strain to hear the difference in the recordings, maybe your experience will be different.

PreAmp Hum
Ok so I bought 2 cheap little ART Media Tube Pre's for about 30 bucks a piece. I had read some suprising reviews about how they were actually pretty good expecially for the price. So a little curious I bought 2.
I actually use mine to warm up my vocals at my live show and the sound is actually very nice and warm.

question about preamp kits
So Ive gotta build a POS preamp for one of my classes, Im not expecting anything out of that. But it did get me wondering if there are nicer kits available somewhere. I wouldnt mind trying to tackle a much more complicated, somewhat higher end kit. Ive been searching google for a little time but most of the kits are cheap and cheesy.

preamp recommendations for saturation
Could anybody recommend a good preamp (tube or solid state) that would give me the capability to get nice saturation/distortion. I've got the bluetube, but the tube seems to have died. Turning up the tube drive doesn't affect the signal. I'm into a lot of 50s, 60s, 70s stuff. Want something that would give me some nice, warm distortion, if I want it.
