Hey guys, I'm working on a mix of my cover of "Superstition" by Stevie Wonder. I think the vocal might be a bit low in the mix and a bit too congested around 300-500k/not bright enough. I used my new Telefunken Elam 251 and for the price, I'm trying to make decisions about whether or not I should hold onto it or go with another vintage tube that suits my voice.

hello i am using izotope ozone 7 to master my original songs and am having trouble with the overall loudness or dynamics of the things i master. for example when i listen to my reference tracks and turn up the volume on my headphones or monitors, i have no problem with distortion or have any problems with irritating my ears.

hi.. fairly new to mixing and mastering. Check out my mix and let me know what I can improve on. FYI, artist brought a YouTube beat to the session and didn't have wav files so it was a little hard for me to get all vox takes to sit in the mix so I fear it'll be either to loud or to soft compared to the beat. regardless let me know! Feedback is essential in my opinion. Thanks

I didn't want to step on anybody's thread but I just read one on which someone said ; gear doesn't make good recording, performance does.

I just have enough of those 'What's the most important thing' threads.
So lets just discuss it once and stop the future arguments!

I know the Lindell preamp is new and what not. I enjoy hearing random samples of preamps when I'm searching for a new preamp. Here's my contribution.
