MacBook pro hard drive choices for audio /video recording and postproduction

hi i have to purchase an hard drive to make recordings based on mac book pro for audio recording with at least 24 tracks and video postproduction with final cut studio,

i have been suggested lacie raid hard disk but in the past i used IOmega.

what do you suggest me.

RAID

Redundant Array of Independent Discs. Basically a method of storing the same data in different places on multiple hard discs, thus increasing fault-tolerance. There are at least nine types of RAID arrays that cover various levels of redundancy (protection) and speeds of data access. In most cases a RAID array appears as a single disc to the operating system of a computer.

RAID?

I'm just getting my new DAW set up and have a couple questions about setting up my hard drives. i finally figured out how to get xp to recognize them (thanks scott) and now I'm confused at how to set them up. heres my set up:

one 40gig ide for system
one 160gig SATA for audio
one 120 gig SATA for everything else (mp3s, documents, etc)

2 SCSI, 2 RAID, 2 SATA, 2 USB2, or 2 FW

What type of hardrive is better to use more audio tracks?
If you think of any PCI hard drive accelerator card and you want to use a UAD-1 or a powercore would it load CPU performance.
Now when it comes down to which of the pasts is better let us know what your experience is.
My choice is SCSI and yours?
