Our brilliant singer has moved to Malta! The plan is that I send backing tracks and she records. Then she sends me the results for mixing in UK.
With the current setup (using Zoom) we can chat & discuss until she starts recording. But THEN I can’t hear the backing so I get no sense of how everything’s fitting together.
So the problem is how do I, as her producer, hear both her vocals and the backing track so we can discuss afterwards what worked and what didn’t?
I hope this is allowed. I have a successful recording studio based in the midlands UK. I am looking for a business partner. Ideally a producer/ Engineer/ or songwriter who can bring in clients and make more use of the current set up. This would involve some form of investment (financial or asset). The studio is Pro Tools based with large control room and studio areas along with separate editing/ mastering suite and in a countryside location. The premises are rented, but the owner is sympathetic to our needs. I, personally, have nearly 40 years experience in the industry.
I'm in need of some advice. I've recently taken a piano faculty position at a University, and have been given quite a bit of funding to use as I see fit and I'd like to dedicate a portion of it to a decent 2-mic setup. As a preface, I would like to say that we have an excellent engineer who has a ton of experience and an awesome equipment list. He's also a very busy man, and I don't want to bother him every time I want to do a bit of recording, especially since I tend to record at odd hours. To be clear, I do have plans for a solo classical album, and I will be exclusively going through him when I record it.
This may not be the Norm! but I'm interested in recording Background Music onto a Digital Voice Recorder, and then playing that Music into my Phone while it is shooting a Video! which hopefully will result in Raw Camera Video File, with BG Music! ...My question is, Can this be done? and what would I need to do It?

Whenever my wife records her voice, it really sets off the 250k range (see attachment) of mudiness. Is there anything we can do to reduce this? I have to go into my Para EQ and reduce it, though it does take away from the tone some.
Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere. I have read quite a bit but want to keep it simple. I'm looking to purchase a pair of mics to record my upright piano in my living room. The living room has a fairly low ceiling and doesn't sound great, but ok. A engineer friend of mine suggested a pair of Neumann KM 184's. After some reading I feel like these might be too bright/harsh? I've also been suggested AKG C414's. And just now started looking at Schoeps CMC-64's which I'm interested in. DPA 4011's have also come up. I want a detailed solo piano sound.

I am (primarily) a classical violinist and newbie when it comes to microphones and all things audio/technical. I am looking for pointers for recording acoustic violin and piano (steinway grand). I'll be recording in a small recital hall with wonderful acoustics (and a good amount of reverb). Also, I have access to a number of different microphones as well as any other relevant equipment that would be needed to produce an EP (preamps, etc).
Trying to find instructions for analog recording online has been a dead end for me so I’m reaching out here.
My set up is simple:
And mic’d vocal
Goes into Midas DM12 mixer
(All the basic outs are used for PA)
Then I have a Tascam 424 mark III four track recorder and I want to capture this “mix” from the remaining RECORD OUT RCA connection that goes into my Tascam SUB INPUT RCA input.
