Red Book
Jointly developed by Sony and Philips and first published in 1980, the Red Book standard provides the specification on the optical and physical characteristics for the audio compact disc. In addition it also specifies the organization of the content, such as track numbers, table of contents etc.

Is DVD-RAM OK for burning Red Book CDs?
Just curious what kind of results people are getting from using newer DVD burners to burn Red Book CDs.
Where I'm coming from is: the system I'm putting together will definitely have a DVD burner for archiving purposes. Do I still need to add a low-jitter CD burner like PLEXTOR or Yamaha or will the newer DVD-RAM burners do this task just fine?

Red Book Specs?
I have been using Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum (not the free one that cam with the burner, but the commercially available one (~$90 US).
Any one have any idea if this will this program burn to Red Book Specs, or is this home "toy" program?
Thanks!
DH

Red Book CDs - 2s gap too long
Pardon my inexperience... I want to "master" my own project for now... is there a way to produce a red book compliant CDR with less than 2 sec. gaps between tracks? (Old guys - remember LZep's Heartbreaker/Livin'Lovin'Maid segue?). Can this be done in compliance with Red Book. I'm using Sonic Foundry's CD Architect and it seems to require 2s.
Thanks

Red Book CDR Overs/clipping check software for Mac
I enjoy my trips to mastering houses, (I am having some trouble here in the UK over 24 bit AIFF files) but that aside...
I do however have to make my own Red Book masters for budget clients.
How can I give my CRS a 'once over' before they get sent to the factory? (or my bulk duplicator!)
