Does the talkback mic go to the headphone output on the front panel? I totally forgot...Looking for a fast way without using the cue output to separate headphone amp to get TB functionality

In Sonar 8.5 (won from recording.org!), say I have 8 or so tracks open of the band.
How would I incorporate a talkback track that ducks out the whole mix?
I am guessing that it would incorporate a compressor on the whole mix that is triggered by the talk?
Is there a generally more accepted method? Thanks!
In my home studio i would like to set up a "talk" feature but am not too sure how to go about this. Basically all I want is to be able to communicate with the people in my sound room at any given time without having to go over to the sound room to speak with them.
Any suggestions?

I've got all the equipment I need for a planned recording, except a talkback monitor.
For this purpose I'm going to use a dynamic mic and a cable snake with XLR inputs/outputs (which I already have), so I just need a monitor.

I have my own design of on-site talkback, but now I have a relatively classy gig coming up and I am thinking I need to upgrade.
ok so i need help trying to find a way to talk to someone thats in the live room through the headphones.. but the problem is I'm in the other room . is there some sort of talkback device i can use to solve my problem, i know they have them in professional commercial studios but i need one please help :) thank you
