Having issue with a rhythm - wrong time signature? Grid setup issue?

Sorry if this is the wrong subforum but I'm having trouble with a drum rhythm that may actually be an issue with the time signature or the way I've setup my recording grid in reaper. Basically I'm recording a version of Badfinger's "Name of the Game". But I'm doing the previously unreleased George Martin version (with George Martin's orchestration).

What controls the timing for the Click Track/Metronome when I'm recording?

Is it controled by the converters internal clock?

There have been many times where it seems like the metronome starts okay, then slows down at some point.

I'm currently using Sonar 8.5, but also had this problem when I was using a Roland BR-1600CD 16 track recorder.

So is there a general rough guide for how much time to leave between tracks? Is it different between say movements of a composition verses different compositions? I've just been winging it going with the mood of the just finished movement/selection. I guess I'm looking for something more consistent if there is such a thing.

Thanks for any input.

I am struggling to get this guitar track down correctly, it is mostly finger picking patterns in a 7/8 time signature. It is around 5-6 minutes long but I have been attempting to break it up into 3 parts though I still find it difficult to stay on time with the metronome though.

Hi, my name is Erol :D

I have got Logic Audio 5.5.0 and I think its a greta program but I am having trouble getting the timin right with the audio. When I press the tempo to here the track, theres a midi timer and an audio timer (I think) I hit play and at the beginning the are both inline ok, as it getto about 4-5 seconds in, they start to part.
