Friend asked me to help him, but I'm stuck. System includes: PC P4/XP, Terratec DMX6fire, Gigastudio3, CubaseSX, Conexant GM500 library. When we play a midi file there is serious stuttering even with only one simple drum set/midi track, and also when we do processing midi to audio (export/audio mixdown). VSTi are just fine (straight on the beat line), no problem with incoherent midi timing, especially when processed.
Few years ago I was running Giga Sampler 1.6, Cubase 3.7 with cheaper sound card on P500/W98 and record in real time (midi to audio) with better results.
Now, I did all the old tricks I know but can’t figure out what's wrong.
Any idea?
