I recently acquired a good condition Tascam DP-01 Hard Disk Portastudio(40GB), not the FX Model. For the line inputs there is only to 1/4" jacks ( NOT XLR) ( WTF right?). So what cables or type of preamp would I need to record via my Condenser mic ( w/ 48v)? This is my portable studio not my home studio by the way.

I have a Tascam DP-01 from the US. I live in Dubai and have bought a transformer which worked for one day. Today I bought a AC/DC adaptor for 220 voltage. It powers on, but asks me to wait. .then nothing. I am going crazy! Any advice/suggestions? PLEASE!
thanks,
Kerry

I'm a recording dumb-ass, can anybody help me figure out the effects for the DP-01? I recorded a track and then tried to record a guitar track using an effect I found in the DP-01. Sounded great and it recorded fine, but when I played it back, the great guitar sound wasn't there. The track simply recorded the guitar without the effect.

This may be a stupid question. I understand where to hook it up on the back of my amp but where do i hook it up to my recorder. Do i put the line directly into either input A or B? I mean instinctively this seems like what i should do but I'm paranoid about hooking up my 100 watt jcm 900 to it out of fear of blowing it up or something.
